When I saw this image I had to tell this vintage story.....More than 10 years ago I bought the dress in this picture from a local second hand shop. They had had it in stock for ages. I loved it and it looks great on. It's got no label. I think they thought I was a bit mad to buy it. It cost me £15.
It was only when we were researching Ossie Clark one day when in the early months of Spybaby that I learned what I had.
This is an original Ossie Clark dress made from fabric designed by the wonderful Celia Birtwell. Ask me in the shop and I can show it to you if you are interested. I'm ever so slightly embarassed that I had the dress for years without identifying it, but that is tempered by the fact that I feel super jammy for finding it in the first place.
I will probably be wearing it to a Spybaby wedding this Summer. Perhaps I'll post a picture of me wearing it. I will of course be wearing a bra with mine.
