Yet another enquiry today for gentlemen's vintage suits.The problem, chaps, is one of fit.
Firstly:
Ladies - try on a vintage dress. Too long? - hitch it up, put a belt round it, cut the bottom off. Too short? Wear it with leggings, team it with a wiggle skirt, chuck it on over a bikini. Our collection of dresses and skirts can usually - with a little Spybaby flare - be styled to fit ladies of all shapes and sizes.
Gents - trousers either fit you or they don't.
Secondly:
In the past
Ladies - owned many garments, bought for fun, bought new for every special occasion, accessorised, built a collection.
Gents - owned fewer garments, perhaps only three or four suits plus something for the hot weather. Wore it til it fell apart or passed it on to a son.
Gent's vintage clothing is just not that easy to find as there is not as much to find.
Spybaby are just not in the business of selling the old T shirts, which are the mainstay of the gents' vintage world. And if truth were told, it is almost imporssible to separate them from the modern reproductions you can buy for a song in H&M or Abercrombie & Fitch.
We would love to build a collection of really lovely men's pieces so that we can offer a range that might fit and provide some choice - it's on our wish list.
