Condition - you be the judge

We try to carry items of the best quality and condition that we can.

But here's our dilemma......

Do we reject a lovely piece with a small flaw? Or, do we stock the piece, with the flaw clearly described and let you decide?

At Spybaby, we let you be the judge.

In our auctions, we describe any flaws that we uncover in the 'condition' section of the listing. We try to describe the condition clearly and simply. No flowery language - just a straightforward statement of what you will see when you receive the garment.

If you buy from us at the shop, we never hide a flaw. We want you to be happy bunnies - not cross kittens. We will always be up front about any condition issues we have identified.

Everyone has a different idea of what is acceptable.

We simply point out the distinguishing characteristics of each garment – good and bad - and leave the choice in your capable and stylish hands.

As shorthand, we give each item we list a condition rating. These terms are widely used by vintage sellers across the world, including members of the respected Vintage Fashion Guild
  • Mint: As new, no flaws or wear.
  • Excellent: previously worn or used, but with no notable flaws.
  • Good: previously worn or used, with noted minor laws. Wearable as is.
  • Fair: numerous noted flaws. Possibly wearable with care, or after repair.
  • Poor: Damaged beyond repair. For use as a study piece or to reconstruct into a new garment.
And of course, the Spybabies are here in person to answer your questions. We will always try to go the extra mile to answer your detailed questions about the condition of a garment so you can make an informed choice.
