Blue bay day

Didn't realise until they were posted that we had a blue theme to our EBay auctions this week.

The dress top left is a wonderful 80s cotton frock which buttons up the back. Then there's a classic 70s day dress in fresh blue with white spots - hand made, so you're never going to see another one.

Bottom row - Summer brings all sorts of opportunities to wear a party frock and you can't beat ruffles to get you smiling. And (bottom right) if you are festivalling - maxi is still the only way to go.

There's plenty more, and not all of it blue! Click the big pink button top right on this blog to see everything we have up for auction. And if you are a shop customer, don't forget to let us know when you bid to make sure you get your cheeky discount.

Wear Spypugs

...and following our post about wear palettes, this was inevitable.

Colours

So much of the success of putting together a vintage look is having a sense of colour. Go to Topshop - or Harvey Nichols for that matter - and the retailer does a lot it for you.

Lovers of vintage clothes always have a strong sense of style, and are - in our experience - expert at combining old and new pieces to make an individual look. However, every fashionista could do with some inspiration from time to time:

Meet Wear Palettes - compiled daily by a Swiss graphic design student who extrapolates colour palettes from the clothes worn by subjects of The Sartorialist.

Treat yourself to a quick hit to see today's look, or spend an hour browsing the clothes, the colours, the style......

And for you colour junkies, more colour palettes at colourlovers.com.
